Sayana's words ... are part of the explana- tion of the passage, not, as Ludwig urges, a mere illustration. 85.
 (4) Grassmann, in his dictionary takes all three words त्वेषाः, अजराः and सुसन्दृशः with भानव: ( inn spite of the repeated ). In his translation he gives 'Agni's beams, his vigorous troop of flames" (nom. to रेजन्ते ) and takes सुसन्दृशस्य, सुप्रतीकस्य, सुद्युतः as three genitives. Ludwig transtates "His ageless flames, his fair light” ( with रेजन्ते ) and takes सुप्रतीकस्य सुद्युतःwith अस्य. In his commentary he suggests that the two words त्वेषा अजरा: are to be taken as the predicate of their clause. 90-91.
 (5) I do not quite understand how Roth takes the clause. The translation in the Siebenzig Lieder (of Roth) is "For this great deed is fas magni- fied. " But in the St Petersburg Dictionary Roth cites our passage under the first meaning of + without remark. Grassmann in his dictionary took a to be the accusative after a and tran- slated "undertakes this glorious deed." In his translation Grassmann accepted the rendering of the Siebenzig Lieder. 98.
