 (5) Sayana's genealogy of Agni is out of place. 87.
 (6) To explain the second line Sayana, inter alia, takes refuge in the absurdity that the nomina- tive perhaps stands here for the accusative. 91.
But see what Peterson says about Roth just below-Roth takes it (i. e. :) as a genitive and apparently takes it with faza:. That form he explains as an anomalous genitive (सिंधवः = सिंध्वः = सिंधोः ).
Is there any difference, we ask, between making, on the one hand, सिन्धवः equal to सिन्धोः by a stretch of imagination as Roth does, and suggesting, on he other hand, that the nominative perhaps stands for the accusative as Sayana does? And And yet according to Dr. Peterson, Roth is an authority and Sayana's is an absurdity.
 (7) Sayana obviously does not know the aning of this word. 95.
 (8) Sayana takes the bull by the horns here. 98. Thank you, Doctor, for abusing Sayana idi- omatically.
 (9) Sayana's explanation refers to the ridicul- ous story which he quotes from the बृहद्देवता.
