 (The following will, we hope, fully bear us out in what we have said regarding Dr. Peterson in our introduction or elsewhere. Apart from the truth of his remarks, which we consider to be quite unjust, one might have expected a greater amount of common sense and a more scrupulous care about the use of words from such a refined Englishman as Dr. Peterson was reputed to be, especially as Englishman, as a rule, wish to be regarded by others as the most perfect specimens of humanity.)
