Hartmann, Movie, BIcccks cond Voite, p. 210. | यावरून विजेच्या धक्क्याने सुवर्णाचे पृथक्करण होऊन त्यांतून गंधक वा पडतो असे अनुमान वरील लेखकाने काढिलेले आहे. आमच्याकडील रससिद्धांनी रस व गंधक यांच्या संयोगाने सुवर्ण होते असे नाना ठायीं लिहिलेलें आहे; त्यांत तथ्य असले पाहिजे हे यावरून उघड होते. निसर्ग देवतेइतकाच जोराचा धक्का माणसांस देतां आला तर त्यासही सुवर्णाचे पृथक्करण करितां येईल. किमया कोणांस साधली होती कीं नाहीं, ह्याची कोणांस खात्री करून घ्यावयाची असेल तर त्यांनी जर्मनभाषेत इ० सन १७८० सालीं छापलेले « Collection of Historical accounts regarding some remarkLe occurences in the life of some still living Adents ? हैं पुस्तक वाचावे अशी डाक्टर हार्टमनने शिफारस केलेली आहे. त्यांतील त्यांनी दिलेली एक गोष्ट अशी आहे की, एका बैराग्याने एकदा एका बाई जवळ असलेले सर्व रुपें सोने करून सोडिले, ती बाई नवन्यापासून विभक्त टात असे; नवन्यास पैशाचा लोभ सुटून ते सुवर्ण (त्यांतील अर्धा हिस्सा) वयास मिळावे ह्मणून त्याने तिजवर दावा आणिला; पण कोर्टात चौकशी या पैशावर नवरोजीचा हक्क पोचत नाहीं असा निकाल झाला ! तें व कसे बनले होते याविषयी चौकशी झाली ! असो
