शेवटचा निरोप घेतांना, इ. स. १८७५ साली, महाराणी जमनाबाई साहेब ह्यांचे राज्यकारभारांत जे उत्कृष्ट साहाय्य झाले त्याबद्दल म- हाराणी व्हिक्टोरिया ह्यांच्या वतीने संतोष प्रदर्शित केला आहे. त्यांत मुख्यत्वेकरून महाराज सयाजीराव ह्यांच्या शिक्षणाबद्दल, सुसंगती- बद्दल आणि एकंदर कल्याणाबद्दल जमनाबाई साहेब ह्यांनी व्यक्त केलेली सदिच्छा व अश्रांत परिश्रम ह्यांचेच अभिनंदन केलेले आहे. ह्या संबंधाने सर रिचर्ड मीड ह्यांच्या चरित्रांत पुढील उल्लेख दृष्टीस पडतोः- In all these matters, as in others, Sir Richard Meade received the most cordial assistance from the Maharani Jamnabai, herself a lady of strong and cultivated intellect and, as such, able to appre- ciate the proper training of the future Ruler of Ba- roda, and, thanks to her co-operation and unceasing visilance, the young Chief was kept perfectly freo from the contaminating influences which usually surround an Oriental Prince. Before leaving Baroda Meade had the pleasure of conveying to Her Highness the expression of Her Majesty the Qucou's sense of the Maharani's judicious conduct during these eventful days, as well as her sincere good wishes for the well-doing and prosperity of the young Gaekwar." -General Sir Richard Meade by Phornton.
