७ वा.] गाझीउद्दीन हैदर. सरकारास इ० स० १८२५ मध्ये ब्रह्मदेशच्या लढाईच्या प्रसंगी त्याच्या मदतीची जरूर पडली. ह्या वेळी हिंदुस्थानचे गव्हरनर जनरल लॉर्ड आम्हर्ट हे होते, व लखनौचे रेसिडेंट मि० रिकेट्स हे होते. त्यांनी गाझीउद्दीन हैदर ह्यास लढाईचे वृत्त कळवून पैशाची मागणी केली. तो इंग्रजांचा पूर्ण हितचिंतक असल्यामुळे त्याने त्यांस कांहीं शतीवर आणखी एक कोट रुपये देण्याचे मान्य केले. हे संतोषवृत्त गव्हरनर जनरल साहेबांस कळतांच त्यांनी ता० १४ आक्टोबर इ० स० १८२५ रोजी गाझीउद्दीन हैदर ह्यास स्वदस्तुर पत्र लिहून त्याचे फार फार अभिनंदन केले; आणि त्याने आपली 'स्नेहवाटिका पूर्ण विकसित केली' म्हणून विशेष आनंद प्रदर्शित केला.*
- लॉर्ड आम्हर्स्ट ह्यांचे पत्र फारशी भाषेत असून ते फार मनोरंजक अस. ल्यामुळे त्यांतील थोडासा उतारा येथे मासल्याकरितां दिल्यावांचून आम्हांस राहवत नाही.
