Hame (hām) [Cf. Dut. huam, Low Ger. ham.]n. One of the two curved pieces of wood or metal, in the harness of a draught horse, to which the traces are fastened. (गाडीच्या घोड्याच्या गळेबंदाला असलेली) कडीf. हिच्यांत गाडीला जोडणारा पट्टा अडकवितात, पट्टेकडीf.

Hammer (ham'er) [A S. hamor, akin to Ger. hammer, Icel. hamarr.] n. an instrument (for driving nails, beating metals, &c.) consisting of a head fixed crosswise to a handle हातोड् m, dim. हातोडी f. [ SLEDGE H.घण m. WIELDER OF IT घणकरी m.] N. B:-हातोड्याचे आकाराच्या किंवा त्याचे कार्य करणाच्या निरनिराळ्या यंत्रादिकांस hammer हा शब्द लावतात; जसें, (घड्याळांतील) मोगरी f. २ (बंदुकीचा) घोडा m, केपावर आपटणारें चापाचे तोंडn. ३ ठोकून काढणारा, हाणणारा, हाणून पाडणारा; as, "St. Augustine was the hammer of heresies." Atmospheric H. a dead -stroke hammer in which the spring is formed by confined air कोंडलेल्या हवेच्या दाबामुळे -दाबाने कार्य करणारा हातोडा m.
