It is now acknowledged by all that there is no better Sanitarium than Mahableshwar in this part of the country. That being so, it is resorted to not only by the higher officers of Government, but also by Chiefs and Jahagirdars and by other classes of well-to-do people for business or health. For Europeans coming to this station, there is every kind of convenience. It is the native visitor that finds it very difficult to live here comfortably, at a moderate cost. With a view to remove this inconvenience as far as it lay in my power, I established an agency in the year 1887. with what success, will be seen from the accompanying certificates kindly given to me by well-known gentlemen with whom I had any kind of dealing during their sojourn in this place.
