any committee as such. For our work, it was essential to make these committees functional first. Beed district had 50 Health Centres. We chose 3 people, one medical officer, health worker and a nurse, from each centre. A team of 150 was created for Beed. We trained these 150 people, gave them booklets that we specially created for them. We created specialised pre-training and post-training questionnaires for them to assess the training program. Gave them 2 short-films to show at every village. People got ready to do this because they were properly paid, certified and were given proper services. We connected to around 12580 people out of 13500 in 1350 villages. We personally used to attend some of the village meetings, used to hear all the problems, the people faced, solved many of them. We were documenting every village and every meeting. Our only target was to divert pregnant women from undertaking sex-determination tests. The fortune cycle at Beed and Parali was moving, this time in our direction, slowly and steadily. On our way, we were creating new bonds, educating more people, spreading more and more awareness. The journey was long and hard, but the satisfaction of going in the right direction was immense.
