Sarika was waiting for the meet to end. She hasn't focused on the meeting anyway. She wanted to say something. The meeting was with health workers, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers. The topic was violence against women at the workplace and at home. In order to prove such kind of violence in courts, the medical proof is the most important. It's important to remove fear and shame from the victim women so that they speak up against the perpetrators. Medical evidence is also required. We were discussing such issues. Most women don't speak up against the violence that they face because of family pressure and societal pressure. Health officers should have adequate knowledge to handle such situations and to provide that knowledge and to make all the officers aware of the situation, we had arranged that meeting. Sarika heard everything in the meeting, but her mind was somewhere else. She was an 'ASHA' worker. She used to take tuitions. The meeting got over and everybody left after that Sarika started telling something to the Nursing Block Officer in a very low voice. She was telling about girls in some Ashram School. There was something bad happening in that Ashram school. Sarika told us that girls there were under tremendous pressure. She said “There was no female teacher in that ashram and even during the night, there was only 1 male teacher. Girls were afraid to even to go to the toilets
