Can any theatrical play or a cinema or any of kind of art-form for that matter, create a reasonable change in the society? Does art have that much impact? I am not talking about hollow cinemas which can be easily imitated, I am actually talking about an art form which has a definite thought behind it, striving for change. Is it capable? enough Earlier, I did not believe it, but I was ready for an experiment. I had always talked people into changing themselves, slowly and steadily, but never directly, I was unsure how would they react to direct communication through a cinema. One story was in my mind for a long time, it was a true incident on child-marriage, which had happened in Jalna district of Maharashtra. We decided to make a short film about that incident. Each one of our workers were to contribute to the film. The film was on everybody's mind, everyone was busy writing the script, discussing how to execute it. But the main question was of the production cost. I decided to use the amount that I had received from various awards that I recently got. Nobody was experienced, nobody was from an artistic background. We decided that our very own workers will act in it. Some journalists from Satara also acted in it. 'Diskal' village in 'Khatao' taluka was our shooting location. The schedule was decided. Villagers, especially women in Diskal village were very helpful. They participated in many of our work, acted in our film also provided us with food.
