forth from the meeting as well. But on the second day at Gramsabha, there was a huge mess. Different groups belonging to different political parties and caste groups were arguing. The centre of power in many villages was shaken due to the reservation which led to many such arguments everywhere. It was the beginning of the politics of castes which reached its epitope in Maharashtra after a few years and for which the state is still suffering. Despite many such hurdles, we continued our work because of the strong team that we had, which didn't succumb to any pressure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi before initiating an ambitious policy like 'Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao', decided to have a meeting with all the collectors. There was a similar scheme before his tenure with the name 'Lek Ladki Abhiyan'. To show the pathway, we had successfully carried out this scheme in Beed and showed that the female population can increase with little but continuous efforts. Acknowledging that, one team from the National Women's commission came to Beed. Mamta Sharma from Rajasthan was the head of the commission. Mrs.Anita Agnihotri was the director and her husband Mr.Satish used to work in presidential house as an officer, now he works as a professor in IIT Mumbai where he studied as well. Before the women's commission's meeting, he wrote an article under the title 'Nakoshi zali Nahishi, Nahishi vhayala havi havishi'. For the meet, hundreds of people from different backgrounds of the society joined in. 'Anganwadi social workers, Asha workers, 25 students each from schools and colleges, NSS students and many other village officers and district officers came for the program. To begin the program, we showed a short-film named 'Shivkanta' which was made on the life of a woman, who as a new-born was buried by her father alive but fortunately, she survived to become a municipal elected official. This event was conducted at Yashwantrao Chavan Hall. Our local team members like principal Savita Shete, Sunil Kshirsagar, Ad. Karuna Tanksal, Ad. Ambadas Aage, journalist Datta Thore, worked a lot for the success of this event. After Dr. Munde's case, the new civil surgeon Dr.Gauri Rathod was doing an excellent job, she was also present for the occasion.
