What's the first of need of life? Survival of it! Existence is the primary necessity of every human being. Every civilisation has some defects. These defects like superstitions are carried by generations. Some flaws are inflicted on civilisations because of the vulnerability of the people thriving in it. Superstitions are created because of such vulnerabilities. When we decided to work in the unknown outskirts of Beed and Parali, we were unaware of such superstitions, nor did we know the culture properly to understand the reasons behind them. But because of the intense and micro-level work that we did, we understood every nuance the society had in those areas. Our work was not limited to only one part of the society, in order to understand the depth of the problem we had to learn every aspect of society. When we started our work, Beed and Parali were struck by a horrific draught. Hundreds of villages were dried up. Villages were under the employment assurance scheme. Everyone was doing labour work, even the ones who were from wealthy families. Agricultural labourers were used to such arduous tasks, thus, it was comparatively easier for them to cope up with the labour pressure. The government's criteria for the draught and the ground reality was completely different. The
