Ganesh festival is a huge occasion for celebration amongst Maharashtrian people. Our sting operation in Beed during the festive season did not go down well with many people, mostly with the ones who were associated with doctors. It was a huge shock to the Business of Sex Determination in Beed. People who thought sex determination was normal, got a huge wakeup call. We thought we wouldn't be able to come back in Beed because we were called 'Outsiders', 'Politically motivated' and what not. But soon after the Ganesh festival, surprisingly, we were called again, that time to receive an award. On the occasion of Durga Pooja, I and Shaila were awarded 'Sarees' for our work and courage. Meanwhile, Dr.Sanap got bail from judicial custody. The case was a complex one. Dr.Sanap wasn't the only culprit, he along with the owner of the Sonography machine Dr.Lahane, Radiologist Dr.Nirale who gave the permission to Dr.Lahane to use that Sonography machine. Dr.Sayyad from the Civil Hospital who did the actual sonography were all accused in the case, that increased the complexity of the case. We often had to visit Beed for the case above. While the case was proceeding we also started enquiring, whether the Radiologists in Beed conducted regular meets regarding the PCPNDT act. We also conducted one meeting with them. Which resulted in growing tension amongst doctors.
