When the seventh day drew nigh. thern ceased the tempest, And the deluge and the storm, Which had fought like a host. सर्व पृथ्वीवरील प्रकाश नाहीसा होऊन घोर अंधःकाराने सर्व जग व्यापून टाकलं. मनुष्याला मनुष्य ओळखू येईनासा झाला. स्वर्गात स्वतः सर्व देवहि भयभीत झाले. ते सर्वजण देवाधिदेव अनूच्या आश्रयाला जाऊन राहिले. तेथे ते कुत्र्यांसारखे खाली पडून राहिले. अशा रीतीने सहा दिवस व सहा रात्री संततधार लागून राहिली होती, तुफान वारा वाहत होता, व महापुराने सर्व विश्व ग्रस्त करून टाकले होते! सातवा दिवस उजाडला, त्यावेळी तुफानाचा जोर कमी झाला.
