N. B.-Distinguish Fallacious and Sophistical. Fallacious reasoning is that which seems to be fairly conducted and conclusive but is not so by reason of some vitiating cause called the fallacy which lurks beneath it. Sophistical reasoning is that of which the nature is so subtle that its faults cannot easily be detected and exposed and it may be unanswerable without being convincing. Sophistical reasoning may silence and bewilder but seldom persuades. In fallacious reasoning we are unconscious of the fallacy and thus we are deceived. In sophistical reasoning we are conscious that it is inconclusive. Fallacious = दोपमूलक. Sophistical-सत्याभासात्मक.
Fallible ( fal'i-bl) [L. L. fallibilis, from fallere, to deceive.] a. liable to err or mistake चुकीला पात्र, स्खलनशील, चुकी करण्यासारखा, चुकायाजोगता, घसरायाजोगता जोगा. [ MAN Is F. मनुष्य चुकीला पात्र आहे.] Fallibility n. स्खलनशीलताf , चुकीची पात्रताf. Fallibly adv.
Fallopian (fal-lo-'pi-an ) [ So called because supposed to have been discovered by the Italian anatomist Fallopius ( 1523-62).] a. anat. denoting two tubes or ducts through which the ova pass from the ovary to the uterus in the human subjects फॅलोपिअसची अंडवाहक (नलिका), अं. डाशयापासून गर्भाशयापर्यंत अंडी पोचविणारी (नलिका).
Fallow (fal-o) [A. S.fealu,.fealo, pale, red, yellowish. Dut. vaal; Icel. folr; Ger. fahl, also falb; cf. L. pallidus, Gr. polios, Sk. पलित, grey.] a. pale red or pale yellow तांबूस किंवा पिवळट रंगाचा, तांबडट, पिंगट, पिवळसर. Fallow deer n. एक जातीचा चितळाएवढा हरिण m. ह्याचा रंग पिवळसर असतो; तांबड्या हरिणापेक्षा हा हरिण लहान असतो व ह्याची शिंगें चपटी असतात.
