Discard (dis-kārd') [L. dis & Card. Here the prefix dis has the sense of rejecting or throwing out (a card ) from the hand. ] v. t. & v. i. to throw out or reject from the hand (गंजिफाची फालतू पाने) हातांतून फेंकून-टाकून देणे. २ to cast off as useless, to dismiss from employment, confidence or favour, to discharge, to turns away (निरुपयोगी म्हणून चाकरीवरून) काढून टाकणे, (विश्वासांतून-मर्जीतून) दूर करणे, हाकून देणे. ३ to reject सोडून देणे, त्याग करणे, टाकून देणे, झुगारून देणे, काढून टाकणे. Discharge ( dis-chärj') [O. E. deschargen, dischargen-O. Fr. deschargier-I'r. descharger-L. dis & charger, to load. ] v. t. to relieve of a charge, load or burden, to unburden, to unload (वरचे ) ओझे उतरणें, भारमोचन करणे, (ओझे काढून) रिकामारिता करणे, खाली करणे; as, “ To D. a vessel." २ to free of the missile with which anything is charged or loaded, to let go the charge of (बंदूक, पिस्तूल वगैरेंतील ) बार झाडून टाकणे.
